  • Jared Updates

Many have asked for updates, and rather than individual ones , sometimes updating everyone at once is easiest.

This week, Jared had his first radiation treatment, all seemed to have gone ok and as always we are incredibly hopeful.

Today, as this is being typed, he is undergoing his second round of chemotherapy. The chemo unfortunately is hitting him hard — he’s exhausted, in pain, and struggling in almost every way. Watching someone you love go through this is heartbreaking, and there are no easy words to make it better.

We are grateful that Jared was approved through the VA for a second opinion at Moffitt Cancer Center, with his first appt being Monday, March 17. That said Next week, Jared, Bryanna, and the girls will uproot their lives in Wisconsin for now and temporarily relocate to Florida to begin this next chapter of treatment, whatever that consists of. They will be staying with family for now which is a blessing in itself. It is still a huge step of faith though, and we are trusting God to guide them every step of the way.

At the same time, the financial reality is heavy. Jared’s VA disability hasn’t been approved yet. Social Security was denied immediately, so they won’t receive benefits until July. Right now, their only income is Jared’s short-term disability. Between medical bills, daily living expenses, and the costs of relocating for treatment, the weight is overwhelming.

We are beyond thankful for those who have kept them fervent in prayer, made meals, given donations, and offered words of encouragement. Every single one of you has made an impact more than you know.

God works in powerful ways — and often, He works through the hands and hearts of others. If you feel led to help, whether by donating, sharing this fundraiser, sending a meal, or lifting them up in prayer, it truly makes a difference. Every bit of support helps Jared, Bryanna, and the kids focus on what matters most: healing, strength, and hope.

Please continue to keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. Your love, generosity, and encouragement are carrying them in ways words can’t fully express. Please also keep Jared’s oldest kiddos in your prayers as they adjust to being apart from their dad while he is in Florida. This transition is difficult for them, and your prayers for comfort, understanding, and resilience mean the world.

About this fundraiser

We are sharing this with hopeful hearts as our brother, Jared, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. At this time, the specific type has not yet been identified, as he is still awaiting evaluation by oncology. What we do know is that the cancer has metastasized to multiple areas of his body, and he is currently awaiting transfer to a hospital with an oncology unit.

This news has been incredibly difficult for our family—and for his family—to process and share. Jared is an Air Force veteran who has faithfully served his country, and anyone who knows him knows his strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to others. He is deeply devoted to his wife, children, family, and friends, and has always been the kind of person who shows up without hesitation. Now, it is our turn to show up for him.

The road ahead includes chemotherapy and other specialized treatments. While Jared is still in shock, he is courageously focused on fighting this disease. A diagnosis like this touches every part of life. Beyond medical treatments, there are daily responsibilities that do not pause—caring for family, keeping a household running, traveling frequently to appointments, and managing the unexpected expenses that arise when life is suddenly put on hold.

Jared will likely be out of work for the foreseeable future, or at minimum unable to work full-time. Bryanna is self-employed and runs a daycare, and her hours will also likely be limited as they navigate this season together.

Because of this, we created this GoFundMe to help ease some of the heavy burden Jared and his family are carrying during this fight. Your support will help with:
• Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance
• Meals, household help, and childcare so Bryanna can rest and focus on supporting Jared
• Transportation to and from frequent treatments and appointments
• General living expenses and lost income during this season of care

While we cannot take away the physical battle Jared is facing, we can help remove some of the financial and practical stress so he can direct his strength toward healing.

A Prayer for Jared

We invite you to join us in prayer for Jared and his family:

Lord, we place Jared into Your loving hands. Surround him with Your peace, strengthen his body, guide the hands and wisdom of his doctors, and fill his heart with hope. Grant healing, comfort, courage, and protection over him and his family with every step of this journey. Amen.

As Scripture reminds us:
“For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I among them.” — Matthew 18:20

When many hearts lift the same prayer, God hears each voice and is with them. Even though we may be separated by distance, we are united in faith—crying out together for healing, strength, and full restoration. We find peace in knowing that every prayer spoken, every tear shed, and every hope offered for Jared is seen, heard, and held by God.

Whether you are able to give $1 or $20, every gift makes a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing this page and keeping Jared and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We will continue to share updates here as Jared moves through treatment. Thank you for being part of his village—for lifting him up, surrounding him with love, and standing with him in faith and hope.
