  • First Oncology appointment

Today Jared had his first oncology appointment and was officially diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic colorectal cancer. While this is not the news we were hoping for, we did receive information that offers a measure of hope. His biopsy revealed an overexpression of the HER2 protein, a finding most commonly associated with breast cancer and extremely rare for someone his age. Research shows that HER2-positive cancers can be more responsive to targeted chemotherapy, which may improve treatment options and prognosis.

For the best possible outcome, Jared’s oncologist strongly recommended transferring his care to a specialized cancer research center, where advanced therapies and clinical trials are available—options many local cancer centers cannot offer due to FDA limitations.

At this time, Jared and Bryanna have chosen to pursue a consultation at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. While Jared’s insurance is in network and Moffitt offers a Hope House for lodging, there will still be significant expenses related to travel, time away from work, and maintaining their household while navigating treatment.

Please continue to share this GoFundMe and keep Jared, Bryanna, and their children in your prayers as they process this life-altering diagnosis and face the uncertainty ahead.

To everyone who has prayed, donated, purchased T-shirts, or supported local fundraisers—your kindness and generosity have made a profound impact. You have shown this family that they are not walking this road alone, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

    Heavenly Father,
We lift Jared, Bryanna, and their children up to You during this incredibly difficult time. Surround them with Your peace when the fear feels overwhelming, and grant them strength for each step ahead. Guide Jared’s medical team with wisdom and clarity, and bless the treatments and therapies placed before him. May hope remain steady, faith remain strong, and love surround this family in every moment. We ask for comfort, healing, and reassurance as they walk this road, knowing they are not alone. Amen.

About this fundraiser

We are sharing this with hopeful hearts as our brother, Jared, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. At this time, the specific type has not yet been identified, as he is still awaiting evaluation by oncology. What we do know is that the cancer has metastasized to multiple areas of his body, and he is currently awaiting transfer to a hospital with an oncology unit.

This news has been incredibly difficult for our family—and for his family—to process and share. Jared is an Air Force veteran who has faithfully served his country, and anyone who knows him knows his strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to others. He is deeply devoted to his wife, children, family, and friends, and has always been the kind of person who shows up without hesitation. Now, it is our turn to show up for him.

The road ahead includes chemotherapy and other specialized treatments. While Jared is still in shock, he is courageously focused on fighting this disease. A diagnosis like this touches every part of life. Beyond medical treatments, there are daily responsibilities that do not pause—caring for family, keeping a household running, traveling frequently to appointments, and managing the unexpected expenses that arise when life is suddenly put on hold.

Jared will likely be out of work for the foreseeable future, or at minimum unable to work full-time. Bryanna is self-employed and runs a daycare, and her hours will also likely be limited as they navigate this season together.

Because of this, we created this GoFundMe to help ease some of the heavy burden Jared and his family are carrying during this fight. Your support will help with:
• Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance
• Meals, household help, and childcare so Bryanna can rest and focus on supporting Jared
• Transportation to and from frequent treatments and appointments
• General living expenses and lost income during this season of care

While we cannot take away the physical battle Jared is facing, we can help remove some of the financial and practical stress so he can direct his strength toward healing.

A Prayer for Jared

We invite you to join us in prayer for Jared and his family:

Lord, we place Jared into Your loving hands. Surround him with Your peace, strengthen his body, guide the hands and wisdom of his doctors, and fill his heart with hope. Grant healing, comfort, courage, and protection over him and his family with every step of this journey. Amen.

As Scripture reminds us:
“For where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I among them.” — Matthew 18:20

When many hearts lift the same prayer, God hears each voice and is with them. Even though we may be separated by distance, we are united in faith—crying out together for healing, strength, and full restoration. We find peace in knowing that every prayer spoken, every tear shed, and every hope offered for Jared is seen, heard, and held by God.

Whether you are able to give $1 or $20, every gift makes a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing this page and keeping Jared and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We will continue to share updates here as Jared moves through treatment. Thank you for being part of his village—for lifting him up, surrounding him with love, and standing with him in faith and hope.
