Hi, my name is Karen White. I'm in a nightmare in my life now. I was diagnosed with stage one cancer.  A small nodule no bigger then a pea. I was told 5 days of radiation,  I'll be fine. Of course, I would have to have ct scan every three months, the 6 months . I went through the radiation treatment and I thought I'm happy I'm done and I'm so lucky. I went to church and couldn't breathe  well at all. My husband took me to holycross hospital and they did a CT scan with contrast. A breathing treatment and the doctor told me to go to my lung doctor immediately.  I saw my lung doctor and he looked at the CT scan and said" the radiation completely burned my lungs. Im breathing on half lung and I will be on oxygen 24 hrs at 6 liters." I was so shocked, i couldn't believe it. My doctor said" I sending you to cedar sini lung doctor, you probably need lung transplant.  Something that was so simple and easy, turn out to be a disaster. Im on home care. I have more needs that medicare don't pay. I need an oxygen tank that will go 6 littles or more is 3700, my medical and co pays add up to about 3000. I had to get glasses that cost over 650.00 and I didn't get sun glasses.  My eye the eye doctor said was damaged from steroids and radiation. Im not threatening with glaucoma.. I asking for help. I don't have the money to get all I need. Please donate to a worthy cause.
