Howdy! My name is Shannon Bryson. I am raising funds to help my brother (and my very best friend), Michael, with rent, his portion of the bills, his truck payment, and Cardiac Rehab, Cardiologist appointments and Cardiac medication bills. He called me up Halloween morning (about 5am PST), asking what to do because he had been getting chest pains that radiated down to his arm a few times throughout the night. I told him to go to the ED immediately, so he woke my son to take him. My son called me shortly afterward to let me know that Michael had had what's called a “Widow Maker” heart attack and was being transferred to St. David's in Round Rock, TX to be admitted. I called my dad, who went up there to be with him. Once admitted at St. David's, he was taken down to the Cath Lab for an angiogram. We were praying for the simple need of just a stent. Our worst fears were told to us. Michael has multiple blockages and will need to have multiple bypass open-heart surgery. The Cardiothoracic surgeon came in this morning and told Michael that the main artery is completely blocked and he has several more. He will have surgery today, November 5th. Michael is stressing even more now about our bills because he will be out of work for a minimum of 2-3 months. He is a handyman and cannot go back to what he does until after extensive Cardiac Rehab. He will also need to follow up with a Cardiologist and be on medications. Michael has no insurance and cannot afford to go to the Cardiologist or Cardiac Rehab, which are both necessary for his future survival. He also will have no financial resource to pay his portion of the bills, groceries, or his truck payment.
