My name is Cindy Bourassa, and my daughter Marissa has SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA cancer in her neck since July 2025. Marissa had her affected tonsil removed, along with three lymph nodes due to metastasis. She bagan Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments on January 5, 2026.

With this diagnosis and the intense side effects of treatment, Marissa has faced significant health challenges. She is currently relying on a feeding tube because of the painful sores in her mouth from treatment. 

Her son Zayden (13) and daughter Jodi (17) are helping her with getting out of bed, cooking, and cleaning. 

Marissa lives in Pennsylvania, away from most of her family, who live in Wisconsin and New Jersey. Over the past several months - and for the months ahead - she has been unable to work. Because of this, we are opening this Give A Hand account to help cover rent, utilities, medical bills, and necessities such aa non-food items. I will be managing the account on her behalf, as she is extremely weak and exhausted. Prayers are always appreciated, also.

If you are local to Marissa's home and unable to donate financially, we completely understand - times are hard for many. Even small acts of kindness, such as delivering a freezer meal, running an errand, or spending a couple of hours helping clean her home, would mean the world to her.

Marissa will not be able to return to work until her treatment is complete and she has had time to recover. As a single mother of two, any support during this difficult journey is truly a blessing.
