About this fundraiser

Writing this is taking me tremendous courage to ask for this help, please admire my strength please don't be negative. My sister and I live together she is a high-functioning individual on the autism spectrum who also experiences PTSD, while I am a Stage 3 Uterine Cancer survivor, living with MS, TBI, and PTSD I'm also a survivor of domestic violence and I rely on a wheelchair 90% of the time.

Despite our age and limitations, we mostly do everything ourselves. We sell handmade crochet and wood burning crafts through our online store. Unfortunately, sales have significantly slowed down over the past few months. I even mow my grass using my electric wheelchair to push a corded lawn mower.

Due to major set backs in life like my husband had called me into the living room from the kitchen one day and when I walked in he was playing with our 4 year old son he looked me dead in the eyes and said “if something happened to me would you be ok?” I laughed and said yes. seconds later he died of a widow maker heart attack.

5 very short years later my  son developed leukemia after a 3 year battle he went to heaven to live with us dad.

2 years later I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer. It took 5 years to beat it but I am now cancer free.

It is now just the two of us our parents and brothers have all passed on. I'm telling you all of this not for sympathy but to show you we are very self sufficient and self resilient.

I am on disability and only receive $1,000 a month. My sister has just reached retirement age, and we are in the process of getting her paperwork sorted out. We try to support those around us in any way we can. We've even given away our air conditioner to help someone in need. Additionally, we take care of our neighbors' dogs in case of an emergency. During every holiday, we make sure to include those who don't have food or a family to spend the day with. We have always prioritized helping others, sometimes at the expense of our own needs. Unfortunately, things have now reached a point where we may no longer be able to continue helping others or even ourselves.

I have managed to reduce our expenses, but I had to let go of our vehicle. I rely on my wheelchair to travel to the grocery store and back. If I can't reach there in my wheelchair, I cannot go. Essentially, I carry out everyday tasks that others do on foot, but I accomplish them while using a wheelchair.

The last few months have been really tough for me. I've been feeling overwhelmed and it seems like I'm just barely keeping my head above water. I've had to take a step back from helping others, and it's been really difficult for me. some but I will never turn away someone hungry or an animal hungry so most days I eat whatever is left after everyone has had food. I don’t want to turn people away.

My health is deteriorating, and I am in urgent need of three essential items: a new electric wheelchair, an adjustable bed, and a power lift chair. Despite having Medicare, it only covers 80% of the costs, leaving me with a total of $1970 to cover for these vital items. Additionally, my monthly bills amount to $1675, and I hope to secure enough funds to cover these costs and continue to help others. With your support, I believe we can reach our goal of $3175 and make a significant difference. Thank you for considering my situation.
