Hello,
We got the news that our little girl suffers from a congenital heart disease that requires open-heart surgery. She looks perfectly normal; however, we were lucky that her pediatrician heard a click in her heart during her 3-year-old visit. We were referred to a cardiologist who did an EKG and an ultrasound. The cardiologist informed us that we needed a CT scan, but she was about 95% sure that our little girl will need open-heart surgery. We have been extremely stressed about all of this. My little girl had a CT scan that cost a lot, and we got confirmation that she does need open-heart surgery. We have missed work and spent money on out-of-pocket expenses, deductibles, and travel. It is catching up to us. The surgeon that can fix our little girl's issue is in Boston, so we will have to travel from Florida to Boston and stay in a hotel or Airbnb, probably get a car rental for transportation, and most importantly, figure out how to get out-of-pocket costs for the surgery. Our expenses will be less this year compared to next year because of the remaining amount of out-of-pocket we have left this year. We are asking for your help because we cannot do it on our own. Our little girl will have open-heart surgery and have an ASD closed and a vein fixed. Because of her issues, her heart is bigger than what it should be, and if we do not get this surgery, she will eventually have heart failure, and it will be too late to fix. Anything helps at this point. We just want our little one to be healthy and live a long life.
