Hi everyone. I am a hard working mom of 3 (16, 13, and 1) I have recently been struggling to make ends meet in an apartment that is relatively far from my work and my children’s schools. Between traveling expenses, living expenses, and facing increased rent starting in October I have been tirelessly trying to get us moved out and into a house of our own. I have managed to save toward the down payment and closing costs. I have managed to get my credit in order and believed I had all my ducks in a row to secure a mortgage loan. The last hurdle of the process is having a slightly too high debt to income ratio. I just missed the cut off percentage and wasn’t able to move forward in the process. I was advised to pay off one line of credit. if I use my savings to do that then I leave myself short on the down payment and closing expenses. it isn’t easy for me to ask for help but I am so close to this goal for us I thought I would give it a shot. I work over time every week. I work multiple jobs. I pay our bills and provide for my kids on my own. All I am trying desperately to do is move my kids to a nice home in a nice neighborhood that won’t break the bank for mom. Relocating closer to my work and their schools will save in gas money and wear and tear on my vehicle alone, amongst other savings like a lower mortgage payment versus sky high rent. I am hoping to be able to raise $5k that is needed to secure the mortgage loan and provide a loving, safe and secure environment for my family and give us a bit of a brighter future.
