About this fundraiser

A little over a year ago, I found myself as a newly single mother at a crossroads in life. I’ve been going through a difficult divorce, I was left with no financial help, no vehicle, and a mountain of uncertainty. I was suddenly alone with no safety net, and as I looked at my nearly empty bank account, my future was beginning to feel daunting.

I moved into a low income housing. I began taking any side jobs I could find whether it was cleaning homes, running errands, and doing grocery shopping for others. Prior to this I was working as a patient care tech overnight at a rehabilitation hospital. I ended up quitting because it was difficult finding a trustworthy overnight babysitter. Now Im barely making $300 each week. It isn’t  much, but it keeps me going. Each dollar I earn goes toward the basics: food, rent, and the bills that never stopped coming. I walk most days, carrying groceries for people who can’t shop for themselves, thinking about how my life has changed.

But even during these hard times, I never let go of my desire to do something more. As I delivered groceries and cleaned homes, I started to realize how much I enjoyed providing a service that people really needed. One day, while waiting for a bus after a long shift, an idea struck me: a medical courier business. I thought of all the elderly or sick individuals who needed vital medical items delivered to their homes or doctors. I realized I could fill a gap in the community—especially with the experience I had navigating challenges under pressure.

With no car and only a few dollars to my name, I know starting a business would be a massive uphill climb. But I believe that my struggles have given me a unique perspective. I know what it means to go without, and I know the importance of reliability. People rely on me now, even for small tasks like delivering groceries—and that’s a responsibility I take seriously. If I can earn their trust on such a personal level, I know I can earn the trust of healthcare providers who need a dependable courier service.

My vision is simple: to offer reliable, safe, and compassionate medical deliveries that healthcare providers and patients can count on. I’m seeking funding to purchase a vehicle, the first crucial step to getting this business off the ground. With your help, I can create a medical courier service that doesn’t just meet a need, but that also creates jobs and provides a service that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.

This isn’t just a business venture for me; it’s a new chapter in my life. After everything I’ve been through, I’m ready to rebuild—and I believe I can succeed with a little help. Your support will turn this dream into a reality and help me become the reliable medical courier my community  and surrounding communities needs.
