About this fundraiser

Last year on a cruise, I met someone who quickly became one of those rare, special friends you feel lucky to have in your life. Her name is Nancy Seger, and from the moment we met, her kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit stood out. What started as a simple conversation on a ship turned into a beautiful friendship that has continued to grow ever since.

Nancy is retired and truly loves cruising. It’s one of the ways she celebrates life—meeting new people, sharing laughs, and making memories. If you’ve ever spent time with her, you know how easy it is to smile when she’s around.

But on a cruise this past December, Nancy’s trip took an unexpected and frightening turn. What started as a virus with a terrible cough quickly became something much more serious. She developed six blood clots and had to be hospitalized. Nancy endured multiple procedures and spent significant time receiving medical care while fighting to recover.

Thankfully, much of her land-based medical care was covered by insurance, though she still faces copays and coinsurance. However, the medical care she received on the cruise ship was not covered the same way, leaving her with a bill of over $16,000.

Nancy is retired, and this unexpected expense is a heavy burden for someone who should be enjoying this chapter of life—not worrying about medical debt.

So I’m asking our community to come together for someone who has brought so much joy to others. If you’ve ever met Nancy, cruised with friends, or simply believe in helping good people through hard times, please consider contributing.

Even $5 makes a difference. When many people give a little, it becomes something powerful.

Let’s help lift this burden from Nancy so she can focus on what she loves most—friendship, laughter, and maybe even cruising again someday.

Every dollar, every share, and every bit of kindness counts. ❤️
