About this fundraiser

I am a 28 year old Kansas native who is trying to overcome medical debt so I can have a more sustainable future with my husband and our two cats, Solomon and Sherman.

On 5/14/2025 I was blessed with life altering spine surgery to reverse debilitating nerve damage from a severely and rapidly progressing herniated disc. This surgery is able to provide a new lease on life which is critical to my mental and physical health and our ability to plan for the future. Unfortunately after 3 years of stress, and crippling health care anxiety and trauma, I am now fighting with insurance for short term disability coverage to be able to afford my bills while being of work for leave. I have been denied short term disability and I am going through the insanely lengthy process of appealing my claim, which I have been working on since January.

I have applied for all types of assistance through my company, my husband's company, my student loans, etc. but the amount of medical bills that I have accumulated over the last few years has been extremely overwhelming. Each time we get close to paying off medical bills another health related obstacle has occured, pushing back progress. We are doing the best we can to keep paying off medical bills quickly, but with short term disability now not paying, and not having any income for 4 weeks, it's going to be a challenge to stay on top of everything.

Anything and everything is appreciated.
