About this fundraiser

Hi, we are Sandi, James, and Josiah.

Our journey with cancer began in April 2021, when my wife Sandi (then 48) discovered a lump in her breast. What followed was a double mastectomy, lymph node removal, chemotherapy, and radiation,

Chemotherapy took a heavy toll—Sandi lost her hair and became very ill. Radiation left her with third-degree burns under her arms and across her chest. It was an excruciatingly painful and frightening time. But Sandi, with incredible strength, healed and slowly returned to work after a year.

In November 2024, Sandi’s beloved mother—who had lived with us for 12 years—passed away after her own battle with lung and bone cancer. She was 72.

Just a month later, in December, Sandi (now 51) began experiencing severe headaches and blurred vision in her right eye. After multiple scans, doctors discovered two brain tumors—one, larger than a golf ball, pressing against her vision center, and another smaller, deeper in her brain and inoperable. We moved quickly. A 10-hour brain surgery removed the larger tumor, and Sandi returned home with 24 staples in her head, enduring intense pain and disorientation.

Two weeks later, we received the biopsy results: it was cancer.

In the two months since, more scans revealed eight new, fast-growing tumors. Sandi has been diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive, terminal brain cancer. Her current prognosis is six months to a year. She will undergo full-brain radiation over 10 consecutive days. Unfortunately, chemotherapy is not effective for her type of brain cancer.

Sandi is now home, surrounded by love, facing this devastating diagnosis with prayer, worship, and the support of her family. It’s hard to put into words what it’s like to live with a ticking clock, unable to work, struggling with day-to-day tasks, and trying to hold onto everything she and James have built together.

This fight has become not only emotional and physical—but financial as well. With only one income and mounting expenses, every bit of help means the world.

Still, through it all, Sandi and James remain faithful and hopeful. They welcome your prayers, your support, and your kindness.
