About this fundraiser

Shaun has been fighting his 3rd round of colon cancer (1st round was in October 2022)  with this diagnosis in January 2025. He has been diagnosed as having a secondary malignant neoplasm of retroperiton with other partial intestinal obstruction, including signet ringcell carcinoma. This diagnosis was made by Dr. James Padussis, MD at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. Shaun is undergoing chemotherapy treatments which is the 3rd time within 3 years. He has TPN nutrients that run through a picc line daily, as well as taking daily medicines to help with nausea, amongst other side effects, one of which is a full body rash. He also requires the use of a permanent g tube. From Ocotber 2022 until November 2024, Shaun had missed a total of 1 year of work due to chemotherapy treatments and 2 surgeries where he had 4 feet of intestines removed, many lyphnodes, lining of his stomach and abdomen (which created small hernia's), and multiple tumors. This 3rd surgery was to have a tumor removed and start chemo, but after the doctor opened Shaun up, the realization was that the undetected signet ringcell carcinoma had over taken Shaun's entire abdomen causing his bowels and part of his stomach to be bound to each other and restricted. There is no cure!!! He will have to be on a pureed diet until his end of life. He has been in the ICU unit 3 times since his January 2025 surgery with severe bacterial infections which has cost him to lose 110 pounds in 3 months, mostly muscle mass. All short-term disability and vacation pay had ceased after this last procedure because there was not enough time in-between the other 2 surgeries and recovery times to accrue hours back. He has not had any income since January of this year. His wife, who has CHF issues and kidney disease (undergoing multiple surgeries as well as a horrific car accident 9 days after his 2nd colon surgery) works as much overtime as possible between the hours of their young daughter and herself taking care of him. Chemotherapy is being used to try to prolong Shaun's life as long as possible. Any funds raised will be used to help with medical bills and household needs for Shaun. His family appreciates any amount that is donated.  It just saddens me to see an active man, into hunting, fishing, archery, working with a car racing team, and having such a great work ethic become homebound with a terminal illness.
