Darik, 19, is the second year preschool therapy student at San Diego State University. He is a very active and happy person who always makes you feel happy. He was training in Iron Man in 2026 in Sacramento, California before the accident.
Recently, at Pacific Beach, Darik unfortunately encountered a bad wave, hitting his head on a sandbar, spinal cord injury and spinal fractures from C5 to C7 levels at his neck. We are very grateful to Darik for being alive and agile. He successfully performed surgery to stabilize the cervical spine and received good news from the doctor that his spinal cord was intact and that the spinal cord was not completely cut off. He was still paralyzed under his chest, this time only moving his arms and swinging some fingers, but he had a tingling sensation throughout his body - a positive signal.
After leaving the hospital, Darik had to go to a home-based rehabilitation center for three months to help him re-moving and living. Unfortunately, his insurance will not cover the type and quality of facilities Darik needs for the best results. Please help Darik and his family through this very difficult time and send him your love, prayers and good wishes.
