Hi my name is Tammy I have been out of work since June 1 2024.
Ihad a knee replacement back in 2015. I had a couple falls that has made my prothesis become loose. So when i walk it wobbles and is tearing up the bone they sit on. The doctor i went to originally in June referred me to another doctor that appointment took until August 19. So went to that appt. and they set the revision surgery date for September 11th. We'll on September 10, 2024 my Father died. He lived in Alliance NE. So I had to reschedule surgery because I had to go to services. That was my father my mother had died in 1997 so he was my last parent we had a very close relationship. I so wish I would have just had the surgery because my doctor had rescheduled surgery for November 6th. So on October 7 I set appt with doctor to try to get it moved up. But doctor would not do it I'm sure it's because me and his receptionist had a little conflict on how long it was going to take to complete some paperwork for my leave of absence. It was going to take 7-14 days to complete the paperwork. Which i ended up going back to first doctor to have them fill out the paper work. They nurse there said she didn't mind filling it out cuz it only took 2 minutes it wasn't very long and she didn't mind. So I had already had my preop appointment but they could have scheduled another appt then but when I left the office i said and I quote " then ill see you at surgery on November 6th" and the doctor said and I quote " ok I'll see you at surgery" never said i would needed another appt. For another preop appt. So on around the 25th of October I had let my 4 year old granddaughter watch cartoons on my phone while we were waiting for her mom to get off work when we were picking her up. Well when we got home we were getting out of the car and she dropped it and smashed the screen. We'll i had to get another phone which costs money. And I was only receiving 60 percent of my wages. For a short term disability claim through my work. So when I finally got new on I guess I had a couple missed calls from doctors receptionist saying I needed another appt. I never knew there was message. So on November 6th I go to hospital thinking I'm having surgery and found out they had cancelled it. So I went home and got ahold of another doctor and they have arranged for surgery on December 5th. So I've been walking on my leg for 6 months now and couldn't work cuz I've been I'm so much pain. The pain is getting really bad. But during all this. We had a water leak at our home. Then after getting that fixed the hot water heater had gone out. Which the person that is going to be my care giver after surgery had been out of work to take care of me so no money coming into household so we couldn't afford the water heater until his family leave money started coming in and I was only getting 60% of my wages being on the family leave also so there is paper work to be turned in and when doctor won't get paper work right away then payments of my wages takes longer for me to get. So we finally got hot water heater in a week before November 6th. So I was going to civic center all that time to take a shower. But I have been slowly getting further and further behind on my bills. Well now the short term disability has run out so now I have no money coming in I could pay insurance for car this month and I still owe 3400.00 on vehicle. Can't make that payment and during this time my vehicle has broke down cant drive it and can't get it fixed with no money. So let's see during the six months that I have been out of work which I work at walmart stocking and taking care of garden department so can't walk all that is required of me which receptionist sayed she couldnt keep me off work for arthritis well it's not arthritis it's prothesis failure. So recap in 6 months starting June 6th actually. Had to take leave of absence then it took 4 months to get first surgery date that had to be rescheduled because of my father dieing day before surgery. Then water leak, then hot water heater had to replace the floor underneath it. Had to wait for money for that. Then car breaks down still owe on that have to have full coverage on cuz still making payments. But still can barely walk. So then doctor cancels surgery. Now I sit with no money coming in. And all my bills are going to collections. I'm not able to work probably sometime end of January beginning of February. Don't know what I'm going to do now. Please help.
