Dear friends, family, and compassionate individuals,I am reaching out to you in a time of urgent need as my family, including three children, faces the challenges of an unjust eviction due to a negligent landlord and an unfair Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) hearing. Our situation has been further exacerbated by egregious acts, including unlawful entries shutting off our water, theft of my property, maintenance issues causing serious injuries to both me and my 5-year-old, the discovery of black mold, and an infestation of rats.In the midst of these hardships, we're also dealing with the impact of living in an illegal three-bedroom residence, which has led to complications that prevent my daughter from being able to live with me. Despite seeking help from the Rental Housing Enforcement Unit, the LTB, and the city bylaw office, we have not received the assistance we desperately need.With the harsh winter upon us, the urgency is critical. I am currently awaiting a hearing at the LTB, and I'm in the queue. However, I am due to be out of our current residence by January 22nd. I have spent the last month tirelessly trying to find the funds and a place to stay in case I'm not heard in time.The funds raised will go towards covering the first and last month's rent for our new residence, providing us with the stability we desperately need.
