This year, Good Drinks. Great People. One Hell of a Fight. means even more to me because it’s about the people who have carried me through some of the hardest moments of my life—and the people I want to carry with me now.
Living with ALS brings medical bills, hospital stays, and expenses that don’t stop when life gets hard. But the emotional weight can be just as heavy: watching people you love struggle, losing someone who mattered deeply, and seeing another person you love face a devastating diagnosis. A portion of this year’s fundraiser will help me pay down that debt—but this fight is bigger than me.
ALS recently took a dear friend, leaving behind a daughter who deserves to feel surrounded by love and support. In her honor, I’ll give $1,000 to her daughter. I’ll also give $1,000 to my best friend, who is fighting breast cancer. She has stood by me through my fight, and now I want to stand beside her through hers.
These gifts are my way of turning some of the heartbreak and help I’ve received into hope for the people I love. No one should have to face a fight alone, and I’m grateful to have a community that understands what it means to show up.
Come share a good drink, surround yourself with great people, and help us take on one hell of a fight. 💚
This year, we’re raising money for more than one fight—we’re honoring the people we’ve lost, supporting the people still fighting, and showing up for each other.
