  • Spring Forward!

    Hi everyone,

Thank you again for your generosity. Even more than the financial generosity, I’ve experienced an outpouring of love that has greatly helped. The first month and a half was largely just pain - no sleeping, no eating, just hurting - which takes a huge mental toll.

I started physical therapy, and now we’re in the “preserving mobility” phase. That’s funny to me, because I’m hypermobile! But in order to move everything where it’s supposed to be and keep it fluid, I have about 6-8 weeks of this stage before I can move into strengthening and start integrating back into my life.

All the muscles in my back, shoulder, neck, and right hip are angry. They’re knotted around each other and the nerves and making things difficult. PT is helping me move around easier, but I haven’t been able to manage more than one appointment a week yet, and we really don’t do much.

My gastroparesis has been a huge pain since contracting the stomach flu. When I’m in pain, my heart beats too fast, which makes me puke. So I’m putting out multiple fires at once!

Again, thank you everyone. It’s a long road but I finally feel like it’ll get better.

About this fundraiser

Hello! I’m Autumn and I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (&co!) At the beginning of January, I dislocated my right shoulder for the third time in six months and tore my labrum, leading to excruciating pain and accompanying nerve damage. The extent of nerve damage puts me at risk of permanent weakness or paralysis in my dominant arm.

At this time, because of my condition, we’re treating it conservatively, but I will likely need surgery in the coming months.

Temporary disability has taken an incredibly long time and I’ve been without any income for almost two months. I’m completely unable to work at this time, due to the risk of further damage and restriction of my dominant arm.

This fundraiser will help with rent, bills, copays, medication, and other necessities as I wait for temporary disability leave to come through.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! I’ve never had to crowdfund for something like this before. I am so grateful for your help getting back on my feet and staying there. ☺️
