On July 4 or 5, our lives completely changed. While I was at work, a severe house fire broke out at our home in Taylor, Texas. Thankfully, my sister, my niece, my nephew, our Akita, and I are all safe, but we have lost almost everything.
​The heat was so intense that it destroyed my entire bedroom—leaving it a pile of ash—and heavily damaged our kitchen, living room, and main living areas. Right now, the only clothes I own are the work uniform I had on my back. The fire chief has officially informed us that the home is completely unlivable.
​We are now displaced and urgently need to find a new place to live. While we work hard to always pay our rent and bills on time, we do not have the savings to suddenly come up with a new security deposit and first month's rent under these emergency circumstances.
​We are asking our community, friends, and anyone with a kind heart for help. Any donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward a housing deposit, replacing clothes for the kids and adults, food, and essentials for our dog. If you cannot donate, please share our story.
