As some of you may know Elena Maes was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer in July. Since then she has undergone radiation and is now starting Chemo in the hopes of shrinking the cancer. She is currently working however, her job only gives 13 weeks of family medical leave. In the time she has been on radiation she has already used 2 weeks of leave, and will use more now that she is on chemo. Her job has been specific and stated if she goes over 13 weeks she no longer has a job so she is trying to work as much as she can without using FMLA unless it's necessary. She has good days and bad days just like all of us except her bad days consists of nausea, weakness, anxiety, high blood pressure, high or low potassium, and whatever other side effects chemo brings. Imagine still going to work on those bad days and having to stand for 8 hours nonstop when all you want to do is be in bed. As all of you know her husband passed away almost 2 years ago and she relies only on her income. Medical bills, utility bills, prescriptions and home owner bills are piling up and she could really use our help. Elena is a very private person and she goes through everything in silence, in her words she doesn't want to burden anyone with her problems as everyone is going through something. As friends and family it is up to us to help take some of those stress factors from her so all she needs to focus on is her health and getting better.  If you can help her in anyway financially it would be greatly appreciated if you cannot help financially prayers are always more then welcomed.
