Hi, my name is Kristi Pate. You may or may not know me or my story, but sharing this is not easy for me. I never imagined I would be in a position to ask for financial help—but here I am, trusting God through it all.

I am a faith-driven woman who stands firmly on the KJV Bible. I’m blessed with a wonderful, Godly husband, Jason—my best friend since my freshman year (when he tried, and failed, to haze me 😂). Together, we are raising our beautiful daughter, Zoey, who has the biggest heart. With my family, church, and loved ones, I am surrounded by support—but sometimes, we still need a little extra help.

Now the introduction is done, lets get to my story: I've been a heart warrior since I was just 15 months old. That’s when my life took its first big leap, facing the daunting challenges that came with a cardiac pulmonary condition. Fast forward to today, and it feels like yesterday: from balloon valvulotomy at such an early age to open-heart surgery—I've faced them all!

For 43 long years, I’ve fought hard against this battle, enduring countless tests and staying on medications just to keep things stable. But here’s the twist in my story that turned life as I knew it upside down: over the last three years, my condition has worsened significantly. 😔

In 2019, doctors discovered abnormal function in my heart's right chamber—a shocker! This led to increasing shortness of breath and swelling in my legs. It felt like a cruel joke after all those decades of fighting. But I refused to give up; that’s not how we roll in our family!

After relocating in 2020, finding the right specialist was no easy task—but perseverance paid off when last year I finally connected with Dr. Khan, my knight in shining scrubs who truly understood what I had been going through all these years. Her approach to managing my condition felt like a breath of fresh air! But she has decided that due to the severity and complexity of my heart defect, they are needing me to go to Mayo Clinic in Arizona, and possibly Minnesota if the Arizona provider is unable to do it intravenously.
