I'm Ntokezia Coney and I have systemic sclerosis which is causing several other complications such as falls, inadequate wound healing,  neuropathy, blurred vision, muscle spasms and spasticity, hot flashes, profuse sweating, elevated blood pressure, fast heart rate, low blood pressure, difficulty digesting food, constipation/diarrhea and much more.  I'm only 37 and on disability for the second time in my life.  I take care of my mother who has her own severe medical problems and 12 yr old son so I have some custody.  I've been to the Mayo Clinic once this year which is  a 12 hr drive away.  They do not provide housing or food. I've been scheduled to see the neurology, rheumatology, neuro opthalmology, cardiology and the fibromyalgia clinics. Over the week that I spent in Minnesota at the Mayo Clinic, I was only able to get one specialty done.  I have to be there longer, but will need to find care for my mom as I'm her only caregiver. She does not have inaurance that covers any respite care for me or will allow her to stay in a facility temporarily. I'm doing this all on my own.  On top of everything, we were displaced from our house for 2 years due to major water damage.  I'm still struggling with the insurance to cover my expenses. I just need some help.  I'm hoping with the $3000, I can cover food,  gas, lodging so I can help myself get better.  This will be a big step in being able to become a better caregiver for my mom and son.
