About this fundraiser

i am reaching out for help to stay on my feet and maintain my independence. I live alone on my property with no family nearby to assist me, so my ability to move and care for myself is my lifeline. I live on a very limited Social Security income. I love my place and I have dogs who depend on me for everything. Without a way to maintain my mobility—which has become increasingly at risk lately—I face the very real possibility of losing my ability to walk entirely. I don't have anyone in a position to come and take care of me, my home, or my animals, and I am desperate to stay in the home I love.

Every day, I struggle with chronic pain and severe sciatica. I have already been through multiple back surgeries and currently have rods in my spine. I will be 70 years old this coming March, and after enduring so many operations already, the last thing I want is to go under the knife again. I am facing a full spinal MRI on January 12th to prepare for yet another surgery, and I am desperate to break this cycle.

I want to break this cycle so badly that I have done a ton of research on the subject, and I’ve found that in order to keep walking for the rest of my life, I need a specialized medical treatment called Hippotherapy. This therapy is a specific motion designed to gently open the spinal canal and strengthen the core muscles—exactly what my body needs to recover and stay mobile. It provides this through a unique three-dimensional movement that actually mimics the gait of a horse.

Because of the hardware already in my back, my situation is extremely delicate. This is why my doctor's prescription must be brand-specific for the Motor Pony Deluxe. There is only one manufacturer in the world that builds this equipment, a company called Chariot Innovations.

Why this specific equipment is a medical necessity:

I cannot use 'standard' or cheaper simulators. Because of the rods in my spine, any jerky or abrupt movement is dangerous. The Motor Pony Deluxe is the only one engineered with hydraulic brakes for a 'Slide to Stop.' That smooth, fluid motion is a medical requirement for me to perform this therapy safely without risking permanent damage to my surgical hardware.

The cost for this medical equipment is $4,995. This isn't just about a piece of equipment for me; it is about my future. I want to wake up and know I can still take care of my dogs, walk across my own land, and live my life with dignity in the home I love.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post. Every share helps get my story to someone else who might be able to help. Your support, whether through a donation or a share, means the world to me—it truly is the gift of my independence. Thank you for helping me stay on my feet."
