  • Biopsies

    Hello everyone!!!!!!
Well 5 days post op and he is doing well. He is getting his appetite back and starting towards more solid foods. Pain is managed well with Tylenol.
However the surgeon called today with the biopsy update. They had taken 12 lymph nodes around the area and they did find cancer cells in one of them. Since that means it started to spread, we are being referred to an oncologist for possible chemo treatments. He was taking care of calling the office and we're just waiting to hear from them for when we can go. I appreciate everyone's prayers, the surgeon is very optimistic because we caught it very early and it hadn't spread to more than one lymph node. They got it all but this is precautionary. Again thank you and God bless all of you!

About this fundraiser

My husband Kevin Sams has to have colon surgery, for the second time,  to remove a cancer affected area. Colon cancer runs in his family unfortunately and this is the second time he has had to get some colon removed.  His PET Scan has already cost $3000, which we borrowed money to pay half.  His Ct scan will be $1200. We don't even know what we will have to pay up front for the actual surgery in April. On top of that it is a 3-4 week recovery time,  which only 2 weeks of pay if covered from his job. I want him to have the best care he can get so he can come to our daughter's high school graduation in May!!

Kevin started in public safety in 1993 after several years as a volunteer fire fighter in North Fulton County,  specifically Alpharetta,  Georgia. He spent his life helping others,  training and getting the newest training to bring back to his city.  Over his 30+ years of firefighting he was also sworn in as a police officer,  Became an EMT, taught CPR and was the first one to bring hazmat training to his department. He ended his career as a Captain and assistant Fire Marshal. Due to his health he retired and we moved down to the Orlando area where he currently builds industrial laser engraving machines.

He is an amazing man, husband,  father and spiritual leader for our family.  He is amazing at everything he does,  ask any co workers!!!! He already lost one sister to cancer in 2018 and we need him to stick around for a while.

He has given soo much to everyone else i want to make this difficult time as easy and stress free as possible . Anything you can give will help medical costs and every day expenses!!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

God bless!!!
