Hi I'm Taretha aka by Ree Ree to childhood friends and family. I'm a 48 year old single mother mother of 2 adult daughters and 6 beautiful grandchildren. I'm a social worker who dedicate my expertise and passion to serving at risk youth and families. At the age of 28 I was diagnosed with ESRD. The diagnosis was a surprise as I never did any of the things I've heard could damage my kidneys. After sever hospital stays and experimenting with medicines prescribed by my nephrologist I went on dialysis in 2006. At this time I was a mother of 2 and foster mom of 2, all girls. I endured a lot of complications with medication side effects, side effects of dialysis and feeling horrible mentally. I received my 1st transplant that lasted 3 years before it rejected. I went back on dialysis and received my 2nd transplant years later. This one last only 4 years before it rejected. After the 2nd transplant rejected apart of me died within. I went through the motions of live pushing, praying and smiling but my soul was crumbling inside. I masked fear with anger. I went back on dialysis for the 3rd time 8 years ago. I thought my road was nearing an end. Negative thoughts set camp in my head and I had no motivation to try for another transplant. One day I decided to try and was sent to Nashville, Tn. at Vanderbilt hospital. Still with no high hopes as I waited for the call saying I can not get on the list. Lord behold! On 10-18-23 @12:00pm I received a call saying I am listed on the transplant list and the 8 years I've been back on dialysis gives me preference on the list. So, here I am happy, ecstatic, tearful and eager to take this journey. Cause 3s a charm right? The Trinity! 3!. Now the reality sets in I will be off work, have to still pay bills, travel to another state and stay there until I'm recovered. This is where I NEED YOUR HELP!
