Hello everyone,

I am Yuri, a friend of Atsuko and Taku Kondo for 20+ years.

We need your help in supporting the Kondo family!!!

Atsuko’s husband Taku has unfortunately been diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer. He noticed a growth on the left side of his body near his kidney and began to experience some severe pain during the first week of December. He eventually had a CT scan which revealed that the cancer has already spread to the liver, kidney, and lungs.

Atsuko like always is supporting her husband by taking every minute she can, working daily full time, sometimes late into the night for the extensive medical costs.

In addition, their sweet 20 year old son Tamon has also recently been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (known as Designated Intractable Disease in Japan) and has to take medication for the rest of his life.

Anything big or small helps in this situation. We are here to support and help the Kondo family in any way we can! Please send lots of love to Atsuko and Taku and their wonderful kids Tamon (Jake), Tamaki, and Takumi (Jack). We believe that Taku will fight hard and be in remission from this diagnosis.

近藤 卓也さん・敦子さんと学生時代からの友人の高梨 裕梨と申します。

１２月初め、卓さんがお腹の腫れと痛みに襲われ、病院に駆けつけました。突然のことに家族一同、半信半疑で病院に確認したところ、大腸がんと診断されたそうです。その後、精密検査を受け、癌がステージ４に進行しており、肝臓・腎臓・肺に転移していることが発覚しました。

今後は大量の点滴をする可能性があるので、血管が潰れたりすることを防ぐためのカテーテルを心臓にいれ、ポートという器具を取り付ける手術を施したところです。また、生体検査も終わり、今後の治療方針が決まっていくようですが、まだ治療ができる準備ができただけで、これからの道のりは長いです。医療費も今後、どんどん増え続けそうです。

１２月に卓さんが倒れた矢先に、サンディエゴから長男の息子が飛んで帰ってきました。とっても優しい子です。父のサポートで来たはずの息子 汰文（タモン）が大腸炎で倒れ、生体検査の結果、潰瘍性大腸炎と診断されました。生涯お薬を飲み続けなければならない日本では指定難病だそうです。

奥様の敦子さんは週７日で夜遅くまで働き、献身的に家族をサポートしています。敦子さんこそ倒れそうでこちらが心配です。

どうか、近藤ファミリーの辛い時期に希望と笑顔を♡　癌が寛解することを信じてサポートしていきます！！
