Our family is raising funds for our son Lukas whom was born in April 2016 with a rare condition called spina Bifida Myelomengocele And is wheelchair bound. We could really use some help getting together a plan to build our ten year old son a wheelchair ramp on our house. We have been through a few agency’s, application after application to only be denied or not even responded to about it. I have been trying to have a wheelchair put on our home for two long years. Lukas now weighs over 80lbs and he is only getting bigger and bigger. Lukas is paralyzed from his waist down. He unfortunately will always need a wheelchair to get around. Lately just getting him on the bus in the morning and afternoon has been super rough. Also going to doctor appointments or even out for fun for the day is hard on us. His father does most of lifting him which is taking a toll on his back and body.  Lukas would benefit greatly from wheelchair ramp and would be able to go more places without the stress and hassle of carrying him to and from a deck and three stairs connected to our home.  We would like to have this done before next winter, as the cold and snow makes it even harder on him and us. We are just trying to raise funds to have one built privately instead of paying 10-14k for a company.

We do not want Lukas to feel like he is not able to go places! He deserves to see just as much as the world as we do! His brother would also love to be able to take Lukas on walks himself without our help of having to carry him from the porch to the wheelchair every single time.
