In just a little over a year, my life has been transformed in ways I never thought were possible. After losing over 110 pounds, I’ve experienced healing not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. This journey has given me a second chance at life - one rooted in health, presence, and purpose.
However, with massive weight loss comes challenges people don’t often talk about. I’m now facing the physical realities of excess skin that impacts mobility, comfort, daily function, and long-term health. After not only winning the 2026 POP Recovery Systems Surgery Sponsorship and great deal of prayer, medical counsel, and emotional discernment, I’ve made the decision to move forward with reconstructive skin removal surgery as part of my continued healing journey.
This is not a decision I made lightly. It’s deeply personal, deeply humbling, and rooted in restoration.
While I did win a sponsorship, the surgery is NOT free. There are things that legally cannot be given away, operating room costs, medical facility costs, anesthesia, travel expenses to/from Houston including flights, AirBnB, and rental car etc. are not covered.
The financial burden of this surgery and recovery is significant (albeit extremely discounted from what it would usually be for the procedures I'll be receiving), and while we are doing everything we can on our own, we’ve felt peace in allowing community to come alongside us in this season.
If you feel led to support, know that every gift (no matter the size) is received with immense gratitude. If giving isn’t possible, prayers, encouragement, and sharing this mean just as much. Thank you for being part of this chapter of my story - one of healing, courage, and faith.
With love and gratitude,
Jenny Espino
