About this fundraiser

I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my boyfriend, Joe Zerebnick. Joe was diagnosed with relapsing multiple sclerosis in 2011 and was able to manage his condition for many years. However, in 2025, he was also diagnosed with Lyme disease, and the combination of treating Lyme while battling MS has caused his MS to rapidly progress, leading to a significant decline in his health. This fundraiser has been created to help Joe access a life-saving treatment called HSCT (haematopoietic stem cell transplantation), a procedure not covered by insurance and currently unavailable in the United States, requiring travel to Mexico. HSCT works by harvesting Joe’s own stem cells, using high-dose chemotherapy to eliminate his diseased immune system, and then reinfusing those cells to essentially “reboot” his system—aiming to stop the immune system from attacking his body and halt disease progression. While highly effective for aggressive relapsing MS that does not respond to conventional treatments, it is also a costly and high-risk procedure. Funds raised will go directly toward treatment, travel, and associated medical expenses, giving Joe a chance to regain stability and fight for his future.

As Joe continues this fight, we are asking for your support in any way you can give. If you’re able to donate, it will go directly toward his treatment and give him a chance at a healthier future. If you’re not in a position to give, your prayers, positive thoughts, and simply sharing his story mean just as much. Every share helps us reach someone new, and every bit of support brings Joe one step closer to the care he needs. Thank you for standing with Joe and being part of his journey 🩵
