Hello esteemed colleagues and work friends and family,

Many of you may have had the pleasure of working with one of our most kind and giving paraprofessionals, Ms. Mary Motley here at San Leandro High School and in the greater SLUSD.  

Ms. Mary has been without a doubt, one of the most caring and dedicated paras with our Special Needs population for about 20 years now.  

The commitment and genuine care she poured onto our students has been something many of us have been privileged to witness. In all these years, Ms. Mary has rarely missed a day of work. She would walk to and from work each day, rain or shine. 

Students who have been lucky enough to be under her guidance have meant so much to her; she has supported them with the most steadfast and nurturing attention.  

Ms. Mary finds herself battling a sudden and devastating diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer at this juncture in her life. Ms. Mary has lived alone for the last 2 and 1½ years, since losing her husband of 50+ years. She has two beloved daughters, one of which, Tracey, is  living in Florida. Angie, who is in California has taken time off from her work to stay with Ms. Mary as she faces this very difficult time. 

Your help in assisting with much needed supplies, meals, and care in various form would offer a lot of relief and comfort to Ms. Mary and family.  We thank you in advance, with much gratitude.
