About this fundraiser

Hello,

my name is Ashley Carbino I am a 39 year old devoted mother of two and wife of 17 years. On December 5th 2025 i was diagnosed with a large brain tumor on my left temporal lobe. this tumor has significantly effected how i function on a day to day basis. I experience stuttering and speech difficulties, challenges with sentence structure, word retrieval, chronic migraines and constant vision changes. these symptoms challenge me daily and become very frustrating. I am also devoted to my job where I work as a bus and lunch monitor. And some days your not just a monitor your a second mother or a counselor holding a crying child who is having a bad day. Or being told that the child didn’t want to come to school but came because you make their day.
I hold tiny hands every day and cuddles on the morning 6 am run when the little ones are still very tired and not happy about getting on the bus. I hold the hands on my afternoon run of the ones who always say I love you ms Ashely your my favorite.  My job fills my heart with joy everyday. I am scheduled for a craniotomy on February 16th. And to be honest this news came as a huge shock to the point I did not think I would be able to drag myself out of bed ever again without crying. But I gained ground I went to work and worked hard because my kids and those kids depend on me. I have remained optimistic and positive that I will hopefully be able to manage my symptoms until my surgery. This date was carefully selected so my kids don’t miss a lot of school, their education is important to me. I unfortunately have only been at my amazing job I love so much since October 10th 2025 so under the rules of where I work I do not qualify for short term disability and I will be out of work for 3-4 months until cleared by my surgeon. this is a long road of recovery. without support for my family.
this will make it hard to keep a roof over my family’s head literally. I am scared my family is scared and we didn’t ask for this to happen. the universe I guess decided. these funds will support our ability to keep our mortgage payment paid, car insurance, electricity, propane, and the other bills that come along with daily life. as well as groceries so I can continue to feed my family nutritious meals through this time. These funds will also support travel to Burlington for my surgery and a hotel for my family to stay in while I am there so i will be able to see my children daily as I recover. this will also provide them meals and necessities during my stay. these funds will also cover medical expenses such as icu stay and other unknown medical expenses that may arise. my family and I are forever grateful for your support in our time of need, and couldn’t do it without you.

we wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a happy new year 🙏🏻

warmly,

Ashley Carbino & Family.
