Hello, my name is Joel Bujingo.
I live in the village of Lweza within the municipality of Mukono. Approximately 428,000 children aged 6–59 months and 84,000 pregnant or breastfeeding women are suffering or expected to suffer from acute malnutrition across 43 districts in Uganda. These are not simply numbers, these are real people and they are suffering. Many of which I know personally within in my village.
I am reaching out to you good folks because I can't stand idle to watching what is happening around me and strongly believe that no child should suffer just because of hunger.
To push back against the malnutrition that runs rampant in my village and in my country, I will compile basic needs and will distribute them door to door for the people that need it the most. This list will include:
- Posho
- Beans
- Soap
- Sugar cane
- Clothes
- Salt
- Rice
- Mosquito nets
I believe that the world is filled with kind and compassionate people and will rise to help those in need when given the occasion. That occasion has arrived! While monetary donations would be easiest to transfer, I would greatly appreciate any donations consisting of the items on the list above. My good friend Leo Ruiz will be heading back to Uganda this April, and will be able to transport any physical donations back to the villagers.
Let us inspire before we expire!
Thank you!
