On September 14, our lives changed forever. My sister Mya delivered Charlton Emerald Bill Williams at just 28 weeks, weighing only three pounds. She gave birth at home, unassisted, until our mom arrived—just in time to perform CPR. What should have been a joyful welcome turned into an emergency flight to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), leaving us all in shock at what had just happened.

Luckily, Charlton is a tiny warrior. Each day he fights to grow stronger with the help of incredible doctors, nurses, and the constant presence of his mom. Because he arrived so early, he’ll remain in the NICU until his original due date in early December.

Mya’s focus is exactly where it needs to be: at her baby’s side. But the daily costs of food, transportation, and temporary housing near the hospital—80 miles from home—are adding up fast. Insurance helps with medical bills, but not with these essential expenses to keep our family close in support of both Charlton and Mya.
